Welcome! My editor, Darcy, and I are so excited that you’re here!
About a year ago I set out on my writing journey. Inspired by TikTok creators, I decided to finally put pen to paper, or fingers to keyboard.
Writing a novel is something I dreamed of doing since I was 12 years old (longer than I care to admit). I studied English in undergrad. Eventually, I was convinced that Psychology was a more practical major so I left with an English minor. The joke is on those people though, I don’t use either of those degrees in my day job. In fact, the choice to self-publish was inspired, in part, by a desire to use my graduate degree in business for the first time.
The novel I set out to write is very different from the one I’m publishing, it had fantastical elements and reincarnation as a theme. One of those reincarnations was set in 1814 and that became the bones of Courting Scandal.
The story has changed a great deal from that starting point, Hugh and Kate were happily married, Tom was a womanizing rake, Xander was straight and evil, it was going to end in bloodshed and death…. I still have the early draft of that saved and some day it may make an appearance. I expect that, when it does, it too will be a very different story than the one I set out to tell.
At the moment, I’m currently waiting for Courting Scandal (Book 1) to come back from my (human) copyeditor, I’m editing The Baker and the Bookmaker (Book 2), and I’m nearly finished drafting Angel of Mine (Book 5). Once I finish drafting Angel of Mine, I plan to pause before starting Charlotte and Lee’s story. I will finish editing The Baker and the Bookmaker and Winning my Wife (Book 3).
Angel of Mine has been a new kind of challenge. I wavered on writing the prequel, Devil of Mine (Book 4), because it breaks so many rules of the genre. Devil of Mine follows Celine and Gabriel from their meeting until his murder two years later.
In the end, I decided to write it. I thought that it would help me understand Celine’s feelings for her full length novel whether I released it or not. Instead I fell in love with her rake, and I want you to have that opportunity as well.
That, of course, left the problem of finding a man for her that she could love as much, if differently, than Gabriel for her sequel. In the end, William has done a fine job stepping up to the plate, loving Celine with his whole being. As I write the resolution, I’m more than confident that you, too, will love them both.
The most exciting part of my week has been receiving my cover back from my incredible cover artist, Holly at TheSwoonies.com. I just adore it so much! She not only captured my vision, but improved upon it. I keep staring at it with hearts in my eyes.
Cover art is proving to be my second favorite part of the publishing process, just after writing. It’s amazing to see the characters that existed only in my head realized. I spend more time than I care to admit browsing stock image sites looking for my perfect pairing.
Thank you so much for taking the time to check out my website. If you’re interested in becoming a member of my ARC team, please submit a request in the “Contact Me” section.
Thank you!
